blacked out with Black Milk .

i've been waiting for a printed collection from James Lillis and it finally came together a week ago! i must say he doesn't disappoint. even though i've been trying to cut down on my spending, i succumbed to temptation and purchased "The Anatomist" from the first Black Milk Printed Collection.

'tis gloomy rainy 'sun'day.

it's been a week long of sun and terrible heat but the weekend took a turn for the better. i've absolutely missed the cold weather; gloomy overcast days also puts me in a mood to wrap myself up snugly. it was really nice to finally be able to put on a jacket and a pair of leggings... and to indulge in a hot drink without having to sweat it.

sweet mother of leggings.

it's funny how i feel like i have a close connection to Black Milk by James Lillis. i suppose it's because i've seen his designs grow and expand into quite the "Leggings Kingdom" it is now. he's definitely got a cult following with fashion bloggers and stylish peep-ohs around the world and it's always inspiring to see photos of his loyal, happy customers (like me) on his blog. it's no surprise that James' label is going up up up, really. his designs are TDF and i can't think of any other 'big' (i say this because he has been featured in the media locally and internationally) designer who would personally take your measurements and sew them accordingly just for you.

buying James' leggings are like eating Pringles: once you start, you can't stop. at the moment, i own three pairs and there's definitely more that i want to own.

it's great to see that James is moving out of his comfort zone to create bodysuits. not only that, he's now coming up with 'proper' collections. so from his first collection (which i wish i had the moolah to get all), i got myself the most delectable piece - the Lace bodysuit.

there's an opened zipper that runs along the lace. how sweet is that?

Spartans vs. Spot.

when i first saw Therese Rawsthorne's Spot leggings, i thought, "that looks very very familiar to something that i already have." if you guessed it, yes, it's James Lillis' fantabulous Black Spartans.

while there isn't really THAT much of a difference between TR and James' design (the placement of the contrasting fabric at the lower thigh/knee cap area), there is ONE thing that sets them both apart in a big way.

SPOTS. now, why would you use spots on leggings? if the leggings aren't sheer, perhaps it wouldn't be so irky cos it just looks like the spots are blending in with your skin! i couldn't help but feel a slight itch (like a rash) when i saw the Spot leggings.

so i emailed James and showed him the design. he too, agrees with me that it is kinda weird (and funny) and "spots aren't the go". at least now i know James wouldn't be making that same mistake with his collection! phew.
